About Us

My name is Sally Hanlon and I am the founding member and Director of Services of Support After Crime Services. I have over 35 years experience of working in victim related work. In establishing this organisation I had the support of the board of directors and volunteers. We are a registered company and a registered charity and receive core funding from the Victims of Crime Office on behalf of the Department of Justice and Equality.

Main Aim:
As an organisation focused on those affected by crime our main aim is to ensure an easily accessible and readily available service is in place for victims of crime. Crime can have a rippling effect on those surrounding the primary victim, i.e. family, friends, workplace and the wider community.
A victim's first experience of crime can indeed be very traumatic, they may experience confusion and find focusing difficult. The relevant information and support are essential first steps and should be taken as early as possible.

We aim to make the path from victim to survivor easier for you. As you can see from the website we offer a wide range of services to victims of all categories of crime. We are here to help and support you through this difficult time so please contact us. We are glad to have supported many victims who have gone on to survive and reclaim their lives.

I would strongly encourage anyone affected by crime to pick up the phone and call us to arrange an appointment. We are here to help you to get through this difficult time

You will find photographs on the website of the interior and exterior of the office, with a view to helping you feel familiar.

Our organisation will offer you a safe, respectful and confidential environment to tell your story, identify your needs and see how best we can meet them. We offer outreach visits at neutral venues on request in the counties in which our services are offered, namely: Cork, Limerick, Clare, Waterford and Tipperary.

Staff & Volunteers:
Currently we have one full time staff and one part time staff. We have 40 fully trained and skilled volunteers to assist you and we urgently need more volunteers in the areas of Cork, Limerick, Clare, Waterford and Tipperary. Full training will delivered to suitable candidates.

The website has been designed on a theme of hope, light and spring to support you during the darker times. We hope that this has inspired you to take the next step and contact us.
